Volunteering
We have a team of trained volunteers from a range of different backgrounds who give support to parents/carers and their children.
Our volunteers act as Independent Parental Supporters or mentors providing the following services:
- guiding parents/carers through the statutory procedures for Special Educational Needs
- helping them prepare for meetings and visits
- helping with form filling, letter writing and phone calls to schools and the Local Authority
- explaining rights and responsibiliites
- listening to worries and concerns
- finding sources of additional information
- mentoring pupils who are experiencing difficulties at school
